The founder of MyAlpaca had long been frustrated by the fact that some of the fibre—too short to be used in duvet production—was going to waste. She never threw it away, but it continued to accumulate in the warehouse.
“After one conversation with my customers, I had a moment of real insight,” the entrepreneur recalls. “They told me how their dog reacted to the alpaca duvet they had bought. It was almost impossible to get him off it. That’s when I thought: our four-legged companions deserve something better too.
